Large Natural Closed or Open Weave U - Shopper

A purpose designed shopping basket with malleable sides and generous space for large shops and days out.

Material : Durable Veta Vera grass from central Ghana and handles made with real leather from the same region.

Care : If your basket gets squashed, to reshape simple sprinkle water on the entire basket, straighten by hand and allow to completely dry before using.  

Made in Northern Ghana, our baskets have been woven by weavers in the region for generations. Each basket is made of sustainably sourced Veta Vera grass grown in central Ghana, then dried and dyed in the north. The grasses are then woven into a basket by a weaver who has complete choice on its final colour and pattern complexity - making each basket one-of-a-kind.  

Veta Vera Grass is harvested from the fields in Ghana. The grass is split, twisted, and dyed in vibrant colours before our skilled weavers begin weaving the prepared grass into baskets.

This involves intricate patterns and techniques passed down through generations. We don't restrict our weavers in colour or pattern so each basket is one-of-a-kind. Once a basket is woven, leather is then added to the handles.
